Choose the signing workflow
Adobe’s current guide documents opening a PDF and selecting E-Sign. When replacing a saved appearance, it describes removing the current signature and choosing Add signature. Keep a blank original when the document is a reusable form rather than overwriting the only template.
Choose the appearance method
The dialog supports typing, drawing or inserting an image. Adobe documents a Change style menu for the typed appearance. A stylized typed name and a picture of personal handwriting are different representations, so compare them according to the recipient’s requested process.
Place and size it deliberately
Adobe documents Apply followed by clicking where the signature belongs. Its guide also describes dragging to reposition and using the blue corner handle to resize. Keep the mark clear of nearby labels and date fields rather than making it fill all available space.
Keep appearance separate from other signature systems
A handwriting-style appearance answers a visual question. Follow the actual document’s requested signing process if it uses certificates, designated fields or an agreement service. For a plain typed-name treatment in a different authoring app, use the Word signature guide.
Your questions, answered.
Can I change the look of a typed Adobe signature?
Adobe documents a Change style menu in the typed-signature dialog.
Can I use my own handwriting instead?
Yes. Adobe documents Draw and Image as alternatives to typing a styled name.
