01

Choose the signature workflow before choosing its appearance

A typed name styled like handwriting, an image of handwriting and an existing PDF’s body text are different kinds of content. Adobe’s Reader guide offers Type, Draw and Image choices when adding a signature. Decide which operation the document calls for before searching for a family name. A specimen on this page can compare a decorative typed name, but it does not place a signature into a PDF or establish what the recipient accepts.

02

Use the documented typed-style selector

In the signature panel documented by Adobe, choose Type and enter the name. Change Style cycles through a small selection of supplied signature appearances. Apply the choice and place it at the intended position in the PDF. Use the official Reader walkthrough for the interface shown in your version. This control is a choice among provided signature styles; it is not presented as an unrestricted picker for every font installed on the computer.

03

Check the placed name within the document

Inspect the full name, its baseline and the available signing space before saving. A long name can require a different placement from a short initial. Keep it clear of adjacent labels and avoid covering instructions. Compare the saved document with the working view so the visible placement remains appropriate. For decorative comparison only, Great Vibes and Satisfy are independently named specimens here; neither is identified as Adobe’s signature-style font.

04

Keep other PDF formatting tasks separate

If the task is changing ordinary document lettering, use the Acrobat text guide. If it concerns a fillable text field, use the form-field guide. A certificate-based digital signature is another workflow with its own appearance and identity controls; the typed-style selector alone does not explain it. Preserve an editable or unsigned source for later revisions and follow the recipient’s stated signing process.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Your questions, answered.

Can I choose any installed font in Reader’s typed signature panel?

The cited Adobe guide documents a small selection through Change Style, rather than a general installed-font menu.

Does selecting a script font here sign my PDF?

No. These are font specimens. Add the signature through the appropriate PDF signing workflow and follow the recipient’s requirements.
