Identify College as one member of K-Type’s Wildcat family
K-Type’s original Wildcat page describes a three-by-five grid as the starting point, with departures where the design needs them. It distinguishes Regular, College and Outline, and includes a true lowercase alongside the capitals. This guide concerns that named College style, not a claim that every school calling itself the Wildcats uses the same font.
Align College and Outline before introducing two colors
K-Type documents identical spacing and kerning for College and Outline so the two can be overlaid for bicolor artwork. In your own club-title file, duplicate the exact text without changing its size, position or spacing; assign one original style to each layer and begin with contrasting colors. Check punctuation and line breaks before moving either layer. An intentional offset is a later composition choice, not the alignment needed to evaluate the matched outlines. The Regular style should not automatically be assumed to share that documented layer relationship.
Compare names in mixed case as well as capitals
Set College Club beside an all-capital version and inspect a real member name before choosing the final case treatment. The publisher identifies Latin Extended-A coverage, but the actual names and punctuation remain the right proof for your project. Graduate and Anton are independent comparisons here, not Wildcat College or its matched Outline partner. For a pasteable club message, the homepage’s copyable text options substitute Unicode characters; they do not carry the original layered fonts or their exact spacing into another app.
Your questions, answered.
Which Wildcat styles share spacing for layering?
K-Type specifically identifies College and Outline as having identical spacing and kerning for two-color overlays.
Is Wildcat College an official typeface for every Wildcats team?
No. The source documents K-Type’s family and a named style within it. A shared team nickname does not establish adoption or affiliation.
