A custom family developed from TH Caps
Tottenham announced its remastered identity on 18 November 2024. In its original project account, F37 describes a Nomad brief to develop the club’s TH Caps into related display and text styles. The display work includes new widths, forward and backward slants, alternate glyphs and ligatures. Shapes from the cockerel informed details such as pointed joins and curves. The text companion includes uppercase, lowercase and italics with a more restrained approach. This is a documented club commission, rather than the name of a general font category.
Test width and slant as separate composition decisions
For an original match graphic, draw three fixed frames: a square announcement, a narrow horizontal ribbon and a portrait programme cover. Set the same short headline in each. First compare width while keeping the baseline upright; then compare slant without changing the allotted space. Record which letters collide with the badge area or push the score out of alignment. Avoid solving every narrow frame by shrinking the entire graphic. The independent Graduate specimen can help explore a collegiate heading, while Roboto Condensed provides a separate compact comparison; neither is the commissioned Spurs family.
Separate the headline, fixture information and shirt numbering
Build a fixture card with distinct fields for opponent, date, kick-off time, venue and ticket information. Let the expressive headline establish the visual tone, then proof the information block at the smallest size it will actually appear. Compare 1, 7, 0 and 8 in the time and score before approving the card. A club identity study does not identify every competition’s shirt lettering: Tottenham separately documented Premier League name-and-number changes for 2023/24. Use the jersey typography guide to plan that separate role. For a social caption rather than installed lettering, the homepage copy-and-paste font generator offers Unicode text styles; it does not reproduce the custom club fonts.
Your questions, answered.
Is the Tottenham font a standard retail font?
F37 documents this work as a custom Tottenham Hotspur project. This guide links to that account and uses independently named comparison fonts rather than offering the club’s font files.
Should the headline and fixture details use the same treatment?
Give the headline room for expression, but proof dates, times and venue details in a quieter information block. Check the smallest published size and the actual numerals before exporting.
