Choose the named system before choosing a metallic surface
Antonio Cerri’s Steel account identifies Regular, Bold and Outline as a three-font system for standalone and layered titles. The publisher describes similar metrics and combinations for outlined, dimensional and beveled effects. This guide concerns that specific family. A silver gradient applied to another typeface is a different operation, and the word Steel alone does not identify the font used in an existing image.
Keep the title editable while assembling the layers
Start with a two-line workshop heading and decide its line breaks before duplicating anything. Copy the text in place, label each object with its selected Steel component, and keep an untouched reference copy outside the artwork. Try a dark base with a contrasting outline first; add further treatment only when the component edges are clear. If you revise the wording, tracking or line spacing, make the same change to every corresponding object. Similar metrics are a starting point for registration, not a reason to skip checking the complete title. Inspect the second line as well as the first before grouping the artwork.
Separate letter construction from the final finish
Compare a plain single-component title with your assembled version at the actual output size. Keep the event date and address in a simpler caption so the treatment has one clear job. Save both a live-text working document and the final deliverable required by your project. The homepage’s text character tools produce Unicode substitutions; they do not supply Steel’s font files or construct these layers. For a different documented layered family, compare the Crystal workflow while keeping each family’s components separate.
Your questions, answered.
Is Steel simply a metallic texture?
Here it means Antonio Cerri’s named font system. A metallic image treatment can also be applied to unrelated lettering.
Should I move each letter separately when correcting spacing?
Keep corresponding text layers synchronized. Revise the text settings consistently, then inspect registration across the entire title.
