Choose a desktop font preference
From your desktop, open your profile menu, choose Preferences, then Appearance. Under Font, select an available option. Slack says the preference applies to the desktop app and browser view, with choices available per workspace.
The documented font-choice feature is desktop-only and limited to Latin-based languages. Do not assume the same control exists on every mobile screen.
Make text larger with zoom
For desktop reading scale, use Command + plus on Mac or Ctrl + plus on Windows/Linux, and the corresponding minus shortcut to reduce it. The desktop app also provides a Zoom choice under Preferences > Accessibility.
In a browser, use the documented shortcut rather than expecting that app-only preference. Mobile display follows supported device text-size settings.
Separate a reading preference from a message style
A personal font preference does not choose a custom brand font for every recipient. For emphasis, use Slack’s supported formatting controls, such as bold, italic or code.
Keep important messages in ordinary text instead of replacing every character with a decorative alphabet. Different characters can affect searching, copying and assistive reading.
Explore the underlying distinction
Read Unicode text versus fonts before styling copied characters. This guide documents available settings; it does not identify one immutable typeface for every Slack interface and release.
Your questions, answered.
Can I change Slack’s font on desktop?
Slack’s current documentation provides a Font option in Preferences > Appearance, with the stated language and platform limits.
Does my chosen font force the same appearance for teammates?
It is a personal reading preference, not a requirement that every teammate use the same font.
