Open the correct theme
In Shopify admin, open Online Store and choose Edit theme for the intended theme. Open Theme settings, then Typography. Shopify’s guide describes separate heading and body controls.
Keep the intended theme clear before saving. Editing a different theme does not establish what visitors to the live store will see.
Choose heading and body resources
Use Change in the relevant heading or body section, choose the available family and select it, then save. The available catalog depends on the theme developer. Shopify says its free themes use the Shopify font library.
A font’s presence in this website’s preview is not proof that it appears in your theme’s picker.
Understand size and system fonts
The theme Typography panel can also provide size controls. Shopify discusses system fonts as resources already available on the visitor’s device, with the displayed family depending on the operating system.
A system-font choice can differ visually between devices. Compare the intended design against that variation instead of treating the name as one guaranteed set of outlines.
Judge the storefront hierarchy
Compare a product title, price, description and button label. Test the longest relevant words before adding a heavily decorative heading. Keep the family source and chosen variants in the store’s design record.
Use font pairing principles and web font-family setup to understand the design and technical roles separately.
Your questions, answered.
Will every Shopify theme offer the same fonts?
No. Shopify documents that available fonts depend on the theme developer; free Shopify themes use its font library.
Is choosing a system font the same as uploading a file?
No. A system-font choice relies on resources on the visitor’s device. A custom file needs a supported loading and licensing workflow.
