Prepare the supported file
Procreate documents TTC, TTF and OTF imports. If a download arrives as ZIP, unpack it in Files and select the font file inside.
Keep the original source and license alongside the artwork’s design record. A file named after a font is not proof of its origin or available styles.
Import through the text controls
With artwork open, use Actions > Add > Add text. Open the style panel from the text-editing controls and select Import or Import Font, depending on the interface version. Browse Files and choose the resource.
The imported family should become available in the font list. Procreate also documents drag-and-drop and other transfer workflows.
Apply and inspect the actual words
Select the editable text and choose the imported family and intended style. Compare the name, accents and joins at the final artwork size.
If a file does not appear, confirm that it was unpacked and that its actual format is supported before repeatedly importing the same archive. Keep an editable copy before rasterizing text for artwork.
Choose with some background
Compare handwriting fonts or display fonts for source-backed starting points. Their previews demonstrate appearance; you still need to import the chosen font resource into Procreate.
Your questions, answered.
Can I import a ZIP directly as a font?
Unpack the archive and import a supported font resource such as TTF, OTF or TTC.
Does importing a font rasterize my text?
Font import and rasterizing a text layer are different operations. Keep the text editable for later wording changes.
