Print Clearly: background and attribution
Jess Latham’s Print Clearly uses the visual vocabulary of primer worksheets for handwriting instruction. The creator lists an original release in 2006 and describes a major redraw announced in January 2021. The revised edition expands the character set, while the creator also keeps a link to the original version.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
The current collection provides Regular, Bold and Dashed styles, including Central European characters. Print Clearly Ruled is a separate companion for lined settings. Compare the actual character shapes and edition rather than assuming that an instructional-looking alphabet follows every school’s handwriting model.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Try a short worksheet label, a line of familiar words and a small instruction heading. Use the dashed treatment only where tracing is the intended activity, keeping ordinary directions solid. Compare the letters with the forms being taught and inspect the final printed size before choosing a resource for a class.
For independent comparisons, try Patrick Hand and Handlee. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
