Pinsetter: background and attribution
GeekMissy presents Pinsetter as a coordinated hand-lettered family built around Littles, Middles and Talls alphabets. The creator designed the sets to mix within words, with taller forms surrounding smaller ones. A documented 2018 addition introduced Hollow and Chunk treatments for the Littles branch.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
Pinsetter Complete combines the three alphabets using OpenType controls: Littles is the default, with Middles reached through swashes and Talls through stylistic alternates. Separate files provide another route when those controls are inconvenient. The Hollow style is an outline treatment; it is not the same as increasing tracking or changing the fill color.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Compose a short gift label using the ordinary lettering first. Replace only a few letters with taller or middle alternatives, leaving enough space for the word to remain clear. If layering an outline and solid style, preserve their alignment and compare the result at the final physical label size.
For independent comparisons, try Patrick Hand and Handlee. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
