Identify which Oasis lettering you mean
In his first-person Oasis logo history, Brian Cannon distinguishes Tony French’s early demo-cassette design from the later band identity. He identifies Univers Black Italic in French’s Union Jack swirl treatment. Cannon then places the Decca-inspired logo discussion at a Sheffield meeting in October 1993. Keep those references separate: a font named in the early demo account is not automatically the font specification for the familiar later wordmark.
Read the change as a reproduction problem
Cannon explains that the band needed a mark that would work clearly in black-and-white press advertising, which drove the move away from the swirl device. For an original demo-collection cover, compare a compact wordmark in one color with a more elaborate colored version. Reduce both to the intended cassette-label or listing size. Judge whether the name and boundary remain distinct after the color is removed, rather than assuming a colorful digital mockup will reproduce equally well in every medium.
Keep the album title’s handwriting separate from the band name
Microdot’s Definitely Maybe title account explicitly identifies the writing as Cannon’s, rather than Noel Gallagher’s handwriting or a typeface. For an original cover, place your own handwritten title beside an independently designed band-name treatment and compare their separate roles. Jost and Patrick Hand here are independent comparisons, not Oasis resources. The homepage Unicode character styles cannot reproduce a custom wordmark or preserve the exact strokes of handwriting.
Your questions, answered.
Does Univers Black Italic identify every Oasis logo?
No. Cannon names it for Tony French’s early demo-cassette treatment, then describes a separate later identity.
Is Definitely Maybe a handwriting font?
Microdot identifies the album title as Brian Cannon’s own writing, not an installed typeface or Noel Gallagher’s handwriting.
