Macy’s Font: TT Ramillas Identity Use and Retail Hierarchy

Explore TypeType’s documented TT Ramillas use in Macy’s identity, separate it from the wordmark, and compare retail headlines, product names and prices.

For a Macy’s typography reference, separate the wordmark from an editorial headline, product description or promotional text. TypeType documents a named family within the identity, giving a reliable starting point for that supporting typography without guessing the complete logo construction.

01

Use the foundry’s actual identity attribution

TypeType’s Macy’s case states that TT Ramillas became part of the retailer’s identity. It does not specify every campaign, weight or logo modification. Keep the actual application attached to a reference rather than turning that statement into one universal font for the brand. The TT Ramillas family guide discusses the original resource separately, including the distinction between a supplied family and the way it is composed in an identity.

02

Compare an editorial headline against a product grid

For an original retail-page study, write a short seasonal headline, a complete product name and a price. Compare a large expressive serif heading above a quiet product grid with a version that repeats the display treatment throughout. Keep the products and prices unchanged so the comparison concerns hierarchy. Inspect the longest product name and a price with several digits, then decide which field must remain consistent across every card. Do not shrink individual prices simply to make one product name fit.

03

Keep a campaign composition separate from a wordmark match

Place your own shop name, headline and product information in separate editable fields. Compare the layout at a narrow screen width and as a wide promotional card, preserving clear separation around any supplied artwork. Playfair Display and Manrope are independent serif-and-sans comparisons, not TT Ramillas or Macy’s logo resources. The homepage decorative copy-and-paste font styles use Unicode substitutions; they do not install the foundry family or reproduce a retailer’s wordmark. When matching a particular advertisement, retain the whole dated image rather than relying on one cropped letter.
