Forza is the main communications family
LSU’s official Brand Book names Forza as its primary brand font. Its explanation connects the squared letterforms with Tiger Stadium, recreation and the recognizable energy of LSU athletics. The guide describes Forza as an academic counterpart to the Geaux Font. That relationship is useful context, but it does not make the two designs identical or establish Forza as the source of every LSU athletic wordmark.
Supporting copy and digital substitution
Proxima Nova is the support family, suitable for a wide range of uses including body copy in print and on the web. LSU explicitly excludes Proxima Nova A and Proxima Nova S from that recommendation. The guide names Sinter as an accent, especially for numerical facts, and instructs designers to use its webfont in place of Forza when specifying a digital webfont. Preserve those distinctions when evaluating an existing page.
The signature accent belongs to a specific campaign
Lindsey Signature is described as an accent for the We Build Teams That Win brand. The intended effect evokes an autograph or handwritten scorecard, with names and team roles as possible uses. On an original profile layout, keep that gesture short: a person’s name can carry character while their title, biography and contact details remain in ordinary readable text. Avoid making the signature style the page’s navigation system.
Keep statistical emphasis under control
For a research or sports-inspired story, select one meaningful number as the visual entry point and place the explanation beside it. Keep the source and units visible so that a large numeral remains informative. Match the weight of the surrounding labels across cards, and compare the design at mobile width. More accent fonts do not necessarily create a stronger hierarchy; each additional style needs a distinct job.
Your questions, answered.
Is Forza the same as the LSU Geaux Font?
LSU calls Forza a spirited academic version of the Geaux Font, but that does not establish that their letterforms or files are interchangeable.
Which LSU font should be used for webfont applications?
The Brand Book specifies Sinter in place of Forza for webfont use and allows Proxima Nova as a supporting font in print and on the web.
