Identify KA Designs’ brush-lettering package
KA Designs describes Karrilee as handmade brush-pen lettering. Its original listing distinguishes an OTF with standard and discretionary ligatures from a secondary TTF intended to work without those extras. Separate Swatches and Hearts OTFs map letters A–Z to underline brushstrokes and brushed hearts. The listed package also includes ten 300 dpi PNG watercolor pieces.
Consult the creator’s Karrilee resource for the actual package. Its current description states that multilingual support is not included; a promised future update should not be treated as delivered character coverage. Read font file types before assuming that every file in a lettering bundle has the same purpose.
Proof ligature behavior before decorating a phrase
Begin with the main lettering font and duplicate your exact phrase. Keep one control without optional ligatures and compare the other using the supported feature settings in your design application. Check repeated letters and joined pairs inside whole words, rather than choosing a single attractive connection in isolation.
If changing the text alters a join, proof the final wording again. A reusable quote template should allow the longest expected line to change without forcing a decorative pair into neighboring words. Keep attribution and other small information in a separate text object; it does not need to imitate the texture of the main brush phrase.
Build a companion-mark key and keep real words separate
In a separate text object, set A–Z using one companion font at a time to make a working reference key. Keep that reference outside the finished artwork. Choose the brushstroke or heart required by the composition, then position that mark independently of the words so that a later spelling change does not change the decoration.
Place an underline after deciding the phrase’s line break. Give it enough distance that it does not merge into descenders, and keep a heart clear of punctuation so it is not mistaken for part of the sentence. Permanent Marker and Kalam are independent comparisons, not Karrilee package files. The copy-and-paste font generator offers a separate Unicode-text workflow; it does not transport the companion font’s alphabet-to-artwork mapping into a plain caption.
For a contrasting connected-calligraphy workflow, see the Ms Claudy guide. Compare actual joins and name length instead of assuming that every handwritten family uses the same alternate-selection system.
Your questions, answered.
Are Karrilee’s brushstroke decorations part of ordinary typed words?
Treat them as separately keyed companion artwork. Keep the real wording in its own object and preserve a reference to the selected mark so later text edits do not unexpectedly replace it.
Can I assume the font supports an accented name because a third-party page lists many languages?
Use the creator’s current description and an actual character proof. Do not replace required accents or infer coverage from an unrelated automated language list.
