Hunger Games Font: Book Type and Trailer Lettering

Separate documented Hunger Games book typography from a later trailer logo, trace the maker’s font accounts, and compare cover and chapter-heading layouts.

A book cover, its chapter headings and a film trailer can use different lettering resources. Identify which Hunger Games reference you mean before treating one font name as the answer for the entire franchise.

Identify the maker-documented book typography use

In a direct 2020 interview, Chank Diesel identifies his Liquorstore font on Hunger Games book covers and chapter headings. He does not supply a complete edition-by-edition catalog, so retain the particular book reference when making an identification. His Liquorstore design account describes geometric construction with a human touch, influenced by Minneapolis shop signs, constructivist posters and older magazine logos. For an original book study, compare one short cover title with a chapter heading at reading-page scale; the same family still needs different spacing and hierarchy in those roles.

02

Separate the later trailer’s Parkway Hotel identification

In his own post about The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes trailer, Chank identifies Parkway Hotel in its Hunger Games logo. The Parkway family account connects the design to a Minneapolis theatre marquee and older Florida highway hotel signs, and lists Hotel, Motel and Resortotel resources. This is a separate documented use from the book typography. Keep the exact style and trailer reference in your notes instead of assuming that every Parkway resource is simply a different weight of the same lettering.

03

Compare complete lockups rather than isolated matching letters

For your own title, prepare a compact cover version and a wide screen-title version using identical wording. Add a subtitle only after the main title’s width and line breaks are settled, and inspect the design at its smallest planned size. Prepare the chapter heading separately with a page number and the start of a paragraph so its scale can be judged in context. Oswald and Monoton are independent display comparisons, not either identified original. The homepage copyable Unicode styles change characters rather than installing the maker’s fonts or reproducing the franchise’s finished title artwork.
