Grobold: background and attribution
Guy Buhry designed Grobold with influences from Futura, Kabel and traditional comic lettering. He describes a compact construction and its use for sound effects in manga adaptations published in Casterman’s Sakka collection. His site distinguishes a private-use download from commercial editions.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
The designer separates Western European, Russian/Eastern European and Greek-oriented editions, with a combined edition also listed. Check the actual edition for the required writing system. A similar family name does not establish the same language coverage or usage terms.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
For a comic sound effect, compare a short exclamation at its final panel size. Keep ordinary dialogue in a separate text treatment. Luckiest Guy and Bangers provide independent expressive display comparisons with their own proportions.
For independent comparisons, try Luckiest Guy and Bangers. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
