Read the original Aperçu makers’ account
In Colophon’s May 2017 interview, the founders say Aperçu was released in 2010 after being designed for a small art catalogue, and mention Glossier publicly acknowledging its use. That is a firsthand account of the connection at that time. It is not a complete Glossier brand manual or a font identification for every later product, screen or logo edition. The Aperçu family guide provides a separate route to the named resource.
Identify the role and date of the actual reference
For a package study, record the product edition, visible wording and whether the sample is a logo, product name or small information line. Do not infer all text from one distinctive capital or assume a product photograph establishes the website’s current font stack. Keep an image reference separate from an editable text specimen; a correctly named family can still differ by selected style, spacing or custom treatment.
Give an original product label a usable hierarchy
For an unrelated skincare-label exercise, set your own product name, quantity and a short instruction. Compare the title and small information independently, then inspect the longest ingredient word or instruction without reducing all the text to preserve one attractive heading. Inter and Manrope are independent sans-serif comparisons, not Aperçu or Glossier assets. The homepage clean copyable letter styles substitutes Unicode characters rather than installing the family or producing a branded product-label design.
Your questions, answered.
What does the firsthand 2017 account establish?
Colophon’s founders connect Aperçu with Glossier’s acknowledged use. Keep that dated connection separate from claims about every current application.
Does that identify the Glossier wordmark as an unmodified font setting?
The interview does not establish a complete wordmark specification. Identify a particular asset and its documented production before making that claim.
