01

Start with the creator’s account rather than a film attribution

Chad Savage lists Ghastly Panic on his Sinister Fonts site. In his author note on its distribution page, he dates its creation to 2005 and says he hand-lettered it while watching the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake, also responding to Chris Hansen’s Frank Knows. That is an account of inspiration, not a claim that the film used Ghastly Panic in its titles. Read the creator’s note alongside the official font listing.

02

Look at a documented use without turning it into a universal rule

Savage’s own site shows Ghastly Panic on a Daniel Lioneye 2011 tour shirt, identifying the creator in the accompanying photograph. This provides a concrete display-use reference rather than proof that the face suits every paragraph or horror project. Study the complete arrangement: where the main words sit, how much room surrounds them and which information needs a calmer treatment. Keep that example’s wording and identity separate from an original design exercise.

03

Build a title and a clear information layer

Use THE LAST SCREENING for an invented midnight-film event. Start with a solid background and one title line, then try two lines with a deliberately chosen break. Give the date, venue and booking information an independent quiet style. Compare Creepster and Butcherman below as separately named alternatives, not renamed Ghastly Panic. Reduce the whole layout to its intended thumbnail size and check whether the practical information survives before adding scratches, shadows or a textured photograph.

04

Preserve the creator’s source and included readme

Open the creator’s Sinister Fonts listing and find the heading GHASTLY PANIC FONT. That entry provides the creator’s platform-labeled resources. Keep the original family name attached to the file you select; the Creepster and Butcherman comparisons here are separate designs. For a modern Windows or Mac workflow, start with the relevant font-file guidance and installation instructions rather than assuming an older package label identifies a current installer.

Sinister Fonts permits personal and commercial use while prohibiting claiming authorship, and asks that its readme accompany redistributed files. Retain that accompanying information. Install an appropriate original resource in a font-aware application for editable lettering; copying ordinary words from this page does not carry Ghastly Panic’s outlines. A PNG of a finished title is another output, not the font file. Inspect required names, accents and punctuation before committing the layout.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Your questions, answered.

Was Ghastly Panic the title font of the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake?

The creator says he made it while watching that film. That inspiration statement does not establish a production-font credit.

Are Creepster and Butcherman the same design as Ghastly Panic?

No. They are separately named comparison families. Follow the creator links to inspect Ghastly Panic itself.
