Choose a script reference deliberately
The Dancing Script project description connects its bouncing informal construction to popular mid-twentieth-century scripts. That is a type-design background, not evidence that it belongs to a particular coffee brand. Try Dancing Script for one shop-heading direction, Bree Serif for a different heading texture and Open Sans for quieter information. Use the actual family profiles for their independent histories and resources rather than assuming a universal café alphabet.
Make the order choices readable together
Build one panel with the longest drink name, two size choices and the matching prices. Add a short customization note in its intended location. Keep the ordering relationships explicit: a customer should be able to tell which price belongs to which size without tracing decorative lines across the board. Compare the panel with a second category containing different name lengths. If a decorative heading works but its smaller figures feel crowded, reserve that face for the heading and choose a separate information style.
Proof the board and a small takeaway item as different outputs
Use the selected shop name on a cup sticker or takeaway card, then compare that small item with the larger menu board. Do not assume the same border, line break or script flourish survives at both sizes. Keep editable menu amounts separate from a fixed logo image so routine price changes do not require rebuilding the identity. For an accompanying launch post, the free online font generator offers Unicode caption styling; it does not preserve the menu’s columns or install the actual shop typeface in a social app.
The Breakfast font guide separates named script families from the broader menu task and examines joining and ending treatments.
Your questions, answered.
Does a coffee shop need a script font?
No. Compare the actual identity and ordering information. A script can have a limited display role, while another family handles the menu details.
Can I use the same design for a menu board and a cup sticker?
Keep a consistent identity, but proof each output separately. Different available areas can need different line breaks, sizes or levels of decoration.
