Change the browser preference
Open Chrome Settings and choose Appearance. Google documents Font size and Customize fonts there. Select the preference appropriate to the reading problem.
Chrome’s own guide notes that some sites prevent the browser from changing only text size. A setting that works on one page may have a different visible result on another.
Use zoom for the whole page
Open the main menu and use the Zoom controls. Google also documents Ctrl plus or minus on Windows/Linux and Command plus or minus on Mac.
Zoom changes the view of the page. It is different from asking a website’s editor to save a different text size for every visitor.
Review stored site zoom
Chrome can remember zoom for individual sites. Its settings route includes Privacy and security > Site Settings > Additional content settings > Zoom levels for managing stored values.
If one site differs from another, inspect the site-specific value before repeatedly changing the global font preference.
Keep browser settings distinct from web design
A browser preference helps your own viewing. A site’s author uses CSS and loaded font resources to define its typography. Read CSS font size and font-family setup for that separate workflow.
This page is also distinct from the chrome metallic text generator, which creates an image treatment.
Your questions, answered.
Why does the font-size setting not change every page?
Google notes that some websites do not let Chrome adjust text size alone. Page zoom is a separate option.
Is this the metallic chrome text tool?
No. These are browser settings. The linked metallic text generator makes a PNG image.
