Brain Font: Handmadefont’s Color Letters and PNG Layout Workflow

Explore the sources, compare the examples and choose the right approach.

Plan an illustrated headline by choosing between editable typed lettering and individually positioned letter images. This guide addresses Handmadefont’s Brain project; confirm the creator before treating another product with the same name as the same font.

01

Identify the original color-lettering project

Handmadefont published its Brain presentation in March 2021. The creator describes a color OpenType-SVG font with uppercase letters, numerals and basic punctuation, accompanied by separate transparent PNG characters. Its original notes distinguish the font’s limited language coverage from additional accents and punctuation supplied as individual images. Keep Handmadefont’s creator attribution with the reference when comparing similarly named products.

02

Choose typed composition or placed images deliberately

Start with a short original headline such as “IDEAS IN MOTION.” If using the font file, confirm that the actual application renders its color lettering before designing the full page. If using separate character images, place every letter on a shared guide, then adjust the visible space between forms rather than trusting equal image-box widths. Keep a plain-text copy of the headline with the artwork so a spelling change can be checked without reconstructing the intended wording from individual image layers.

03

Proof the complete title before adding texture or effects

List every required letter, digit, accent and punctuation mark before assembling the final heading. When a needed mark comes from an image rather than the typed font, check its scale and alignment beside the surrounding letters. Make one proof on a plain background and another on the intended artwork. Inspect both at finished size, particularly the spaces inside letters and the boundary between neighboring forms. Keep a version without extra shadows so the original lettering can be compared against any added effect.

04

Keep supporting information and comparisons independent

Use the illustrated title for a short focal message and set the explanatory paragraph, date and contact details in a separate readable companion. Check the exported image at its intended display dimensions rather than assuming a larger working canvas guarantees a sharp result everywhere. Anton, Archivo Black and Fredoka are independent shape and spacing comparisons here; they do not preview Handmadefont’s Brain textures. Compare the same short title in those specimens to judge width and word grouping, then consult the original creator project for the actual illustrated letters.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Your questions, answered.

Can Brain’s PNG letters be edited like a typed sentence?

Individual images must be placed and rearranged as artwork. Keep the written sentence separately and check every change against the assembled layout.

Should I assume every application supports the color font?

No. Test the particular font file in the intended application before building the composition; the creator also documents a separate image-letter workflow.
