Gothic Number Font Generator: Render Numerals as PNG

The Google Fonts project description traces UnifrakturMaguntia through Peter Wiegel’s Berthold Mainzer Fraktur to Carl Albert Fahrenwaldt’s 1901 design, and records its first publication in 2010. Its distribution includes the SIL Open Font License 1.1. That provides a documented font resource for artwork rather than a mystery download renamed Gothic numbers. Keep the exact family and distribution with any editable master; the PNG is an image, not a new font file.

Gerrit Ansmann’s UnifrakturMaguntia manual includes explicit 0123456789 specimens. It distinguishes lowercase or oldstyle numerals from lining forms and also documents proportional and tabular options. Those are font features of the documented manual edition. This image tool exposes the selected font’s default rendering, not switches for every historical variant, numeral feature or application-specific OpenType setting. Do not assume that a different distribution contains identical defaults merely because its family name matches.

Begin with the actual year or date rather than a single dramatic digit. Compare 1 beside 7, repeated zeros and the spaces surrounding punctuation. For a fictional exhibition label, place 2026 above a short title and then inspect the full composition at its final size. Keep the font’s own proportions as a starting point. If one digit becomes hard to distinguish when reduced, enlarge the number or simplify its placement before adding borders, flourishes or extra outlines.

A PNG preserves the visible artwork across applications that accept images, including its selected foreground and background. Choose a transparent background when the destination needs it, and check the exported dimensions before placing it in a document. Copying ordinary 2026 into a message does not carry the Fraktur outlines. For calculations, store ordinary numeric values separately from the decoration; for real addresses or operational identifiers, judge readability and applicable requirements before using expressive artwork.

Choose Wide, Square or Portrait in Image dimensions and keep Artwork width at 100% to preserve the font’s native proportions. The width control deliberately stretches the artwork if you choose another value.
