Set the words before building the arcs
Enter up to 120 characters and choose Montserrat, Bebas Neue or Lora. The selected listed weight must load before export is enabled. The wording wraps and reduces in size within a reserved central area of the 1400 × 650 canvas, leaving space around it for the branches. Short phrases leave more room for distinct letters and separated arcs.
Keep a plain-text copy of the title so a collaborator can check the spelling. A static image cannot provide searchable, selectable page text by itself; use the same wording in a nearby caption or appropriate image description when it carries information.
Reach, count and glow change different parts of the design
Arc reach controls how far the jagged branches extend from sampled letter edges. Arc count changes the number of main branches, each with a smaller offshoot. Glow changes the softness surrounding the colored paths. A thin pale core stays within each arc, while the source letters retain a crisp fill.
Compare a low-count version with a busier one before adding more glow. If the title disappears behind decoration, reduce count or reach first. The pattern is deterministic for a given wording and control settings, so comparing the background does not unexpectedly rearrange the branches.
Choose a source typeface for the actual title
Use Montserrat for a broad sans-serif comparison, Bebas Neue for a condensed display direction and Lora for a serif contrast. Each family has its own documented background and license in the linked profile; the electric treatment is separate from its design history.
Try a title with narrow and wide letters together. Compare the same wording rather than choosing a family from one decorative initial. For a calm supporting line, keep a separate ordinary text layout; every caption does not need electric arcs.
Save transparent artwork or a complete background
Choose a solid background or enable transparent PNG. The transparent export includes the letter shapes and arc glow, while the unpainted area remains transparent. A checkerboard is only the preview surface and is not added to the exported image.
Use neon lettering for a continuous glowing contour, or the plain text image tool for lettering without arcs. This tool produces a static graphic impression of electricity. It does not simulate a physical discharge, animate the image or provide a downloadable font file.
Your questions, answered.
Can I copy and paste the lightning effect as text?
No. The arcs are drawn pixels in a PNG image. Ordinary copied characters do not retain this effect.
How is this different from the neon generator?
This tool builds jagged main branches and offshoots from sampled letter edges. Neon uses continuous glowing letter contours instead.
Can I control the branches without changing their glow?
Yes. Reach and count control geometry separately from glow strength. The same wording and settings keep the branch pattern stable.
