VAG Rounded Font

VAG Rounded began as a Volkswagen corporate commission in 1979, with its design led by Gerry Barney according to the publisher. It was released for wider use in 1989. Later VAG Rounded Next development extends the system and should be treated as a separate edition.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

Rounded stroke endings soften an otherwise geometric sans structure. Compare the width and apparent weight rather than assuming any rounded face will fit the same layout. A newer edition’s language and style range do not necessarily describe an older installed file.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
