TT Trailers: background and attribution

TypeType describes TT Trailers as a display sans initially conceived for film-related work such as posters and credits. Its experimental forms were developed into a wider-use family, with later updates to contours, glyphs and technical details.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

Very narrow proportions, unconventional joins, closed openings and inward-bent terminals distinguish the design. Its italic is an intentionally expressive style, not simply a neutral companion. Compare a short title and a multi-name credit block in the original publisher specimen.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Try a fictional film title above several short credit lines. Keep the smallest credits readable and avoid carrying the narrowest setting into paragraphs. Teko and Antonio provide independent condensed display comparisons for assessing hierarchy and copy fit.

For independent comparisons, try Teko and Antonio. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
