Theinhardt: background and attribution
François Rappo designed Theinhardt after studying sans serif forms emerging in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, according to Optimo. This historical investigation informs a contemporary grotesque family. Its name should not be treated as proof that a modern font package is an unchanged nineteenth-century metal typeface.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
Optimo's linked specimen documents upright and italic treatments across a broad weight range from Hairline through Black. Compare those designed styles in the actual edition. The detailed glyph listing includes figure options, fractions, symbols and other features, which need the right application controls to be useful in a layout.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Set a paragraph, a short heading and a table using actual dates and currency values. Judge density and numeral alignment before choosing a heavier weight. For small text, compare realistic reading sizes rather than judging all styles from an enlarged specimen alone.
For independent comparisons, try Inter and Roboto. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
