01

Telegraf: background and attribution

Telegraf is a Pangram Pangram family credited to Nick Losacco and Samuel Salminen. Its publisher relates the design to mid-century grotesks and a more angular, structural approach. The current family distinguishes upright, Slanted and Oblique treatments and includes variable resources.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

The publisher identifies a 15-degree Slanted treatment and a more emphatic 30-degree Oblique. These are deliberate alternatives, rather than interchangeable names for the same slant. Compare the counters as weight increases and inspect the original specimen for the alternate letters you need.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Try a restrained paragraph with the Slanted treatment for emphasis, then a short graphic title using the more extreme Oblique. Evaluate line spacing and the room required by the slant before setting a tight frame. A dramatic title and a long reading passage can require different choices within the same family.

For independent comparisons, try Inter and Roboto. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
