Stonehenge Font: Comicraft’s Alternate Alphabets and Revised Spacing

Explore the sources, compare the examples and choose the right approach.

This guide covers Comicraft’s Stonehenge by John Roshell. Its two named resources and alternate uppercase alphabets offer a specific fantasy-title exercise, while its published revision notes make version choice worth recording.

01

Identify Comicraft’s Stonehenge before selecting files

The Comicraft publisher listing credits John Roshell and names Stonehenge Regular and Stonehenge Runes. The foundry’s own page describes alternate uppercase alphabets and presents the design with a deliberately theatrical supernatural story. That promotional fiction should not become an archaeological origin claim. The style name Runes also does not establish a historical writing system or a reliable transliteration method. Keep Comicraft and the complete resource name in your specimen notes to distinguish unrelated Stonehenge fonts.

02

Build an alternate-capital comparison rather than a translation

Use “THE LAST GATE” as an invented fantasy title. Set one line with the default alphabet, then duplicate it before trying the alternative capitals supplied by your resource. Make a small chart pairing each changed capital with its default so you can assess both the isolated shape and its role in the word. Preserve the underlying wording. If you use the Runes resource for visual effect, label that study as decorative lettering rather than presenting the output as an inscription translated into an ancient language.

03

Use the revision history to select a useful test string

Comicraft’s version notes report spacing and kerning work in November 2022 and improved line spacing with completed Central European support in version 2.001 in 2024. Build a two-line proof containing your title and the accented names actually required by the project. Check those characters in the installed resource and inspect the gap between lines. A complete alphabet sample alone would miss the two practical concerns recorded by these revisions: relationships between letters and vertical arrangement.

04

Compare revisions with the same composition

When replacing an older authorized copy, retain an exported reference of the existing title before applying the newer resource. Keep the text box, point size and tracking fixed for the first comparison, then inspect word width, pair spacing and baseline distance. Adjust the layout only after you have identified what changed. Consult the original foundry specimen for Stonehenge itself. Uncial Antiqua and Cinzel here are independent comparison families; neither supplies Comicraft’s alternate alphabets or represents a historical explanation of its Runes style.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Your questions, answered.

Are Stonehenge Runes historically authenticated writing?

The cited publisher material supplies a style name and fantasy presentation, not a documented historical transliteration system. Treat the result as decorative lettering unless independent evidence establishes otherwise.

Why check the version of Comicraft’s Stonehenge?

Comicraft documents spacing and kerning changes in 2022 and line-spacing and Central European coverage work in version 2.001 in 2024. Existing title layouts should be compared when their font resource changes.
