Start with the documented Bitstream edition
Bitstream’s Square 721 listing credits Aldo Novarese and identifies six styles: Roman, Bold, Condensed, Bold Condensed, Extended and Bold Extended. This guide concerns that named edition. It does not infer that any file using a related square-sans label contains the same resources.
Use the publisher’s family listing to investigate the actual style and glyphs. For related source context, consult the separately documented Eurostile guide while keeping each supplied edition name explicit.
Compare a supplied width before scaling the letters
Use a long technical label and a short heading. Keep the output height stable while comparing a supplied Condensed, ordinary or Extended style; then compare the matching Bold choice. A width choice and a weight choice address different properties of the result.
If a narrow area cannot contain the wording comfortably, compare a deliberate line break with the Condensed resource before compressing an ordinary face. For a broad title, inspect its counters and spacing in the supplied Extended style. Keep names, punctuation and numbers in the sample so the decision accounts for more than an appealing capital.
Use the original specimen and independent technical comparisons
The source listing supplies the original-family investigation and acquisition route. This site does not distribute Square 721 font files or expose all six original styles in a local selector.
The editable alternatives are Michroma and Electrolize, separately named designs for a technical-display comparison. They are not a promise of matching metrics or glyph coverage. Compare the same complete label, including its smallest supporting text, before changing an existing layout. Record the actual edition and width when handing the document to another editor.
For a short profile caption, explore the copy and paste fonts on the homepage. That tool produces Unicode text; it does not reproduce the named typeface, supply its files or carry its layout features.
Your questions, answered.
Is Square 721 Condensed just ordinary Square 721 made narrower in an app?
The publisher lists Condensed as a supplied style. Keep that resource separate from a generic horizontal-scaling operation.
Can I download a free original Square 721 file here?
No. Follow the publisher listing for the actual resource and its terms. The preview alternatives are separately named fonts.
