01

Identify the upright script rather than a similarly named family

The Google Fonts project description credits Paula Nazal and Daniel Hernández and calls Sofia an upright script with unconventional ligatures. Its catalog metadata credits LatinoType and lists one normal style at weight 400. That is the resource addressed here, not the separately named Sofia Pro or Princess Sofia.

Start with the full family name in the document or source specimen. A shared first name does not establish related letterforms, matching spacing or identical distribution terms. If the brief asks only for Sofia, compare the reference against the original catalog before obtaining a similarly named family.

02

Use complete words to inspect an upright script

An upright script need not gain its handwritten character from a strong slant. Enter a name with repeated lowercase letters and a short sentence, then inspect the visible connections and capital-to-lowercase transition. Compare the whole name rather than selecting from an isolated attractive initial.

Use a plain supporting line for the practical details in an invitation or announcement. Keep room around the script’s strokes before tightening the design. The catalog lists one normal style; do not present a mechanically slanted result as a separately supplied Sofia italic or assume that a bold button creates another documented family member.

03

Follow the original catalog and compare separate script directions

Use the official Sofia catalog for the family and its source resources. This guide does not serve a Sofia font file or display an embedded original specimen. Its independent comparisons are Allison and Pinyon Script.

Compare the same short phrase at the intended output width in those resources rather than assuming they are identical substitutes. Keep the selected family and style named in the project. The script-versus-block guide explains why connected writing, slant and separate printed letters are different visual decisions.

No. This guide identifies the upright-script Sofia catalog entry. Sofia Pro and Princess Sofia are separately named resources.

Can I preview a supplied Sofia Bold or Italic style here?

The reviewed catalog lists one normal weight 400 style. This guide does not add or promise extra original styles.
