Sloop Script: background and attribution
Richard Lipton first released Sloop Script through Font Bureau in 1994. The publisher describes Sloop Script Pro as a rethought expansion with additional language and typographic resources. The Pro edition and the original release should not be treated as identical files.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
Entry and exit swashes, alternates, ligatures and small capitals can alter the result where supported. Inspect the actual edition’s feature controls instead of expecting every flourish to appear automatically from ordinary typing.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Compare a pair of names and a longer formal invitation line. Great Vibes and Pinyon Script provide independent script alternatives. Leave room for extenders and judge the joins in the actual names rather than an unrelated publisher sample.
For independent comparisons, try Great Vibes and Pinyon Script. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.

The editable alternatives here have their own source profiles and included licenses. For the difference between a font file and copied characters, read Unicode text versus fonts.
