Satoshi: background and attribution
Deni Anggara designed Satoshi for Indian Type Foundry. Its modernist sans forms combine grotesk-like structure with more geometric shapes, drawing on industrial-era graphic and typographic references.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
The default lowercase a and g are double-storey, with alternatives available through OpenType. The source also describes different numeral treatments and a variable weight axis; inspect the actual files and app controls for those options.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Try a brand heading with a supporting paragraph. Compare the default a and g before selecting alternate forms, and keep the required number style explicit in a design handoff.
For independent comparisons, try Inter and Manrope. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
