SamsungOne connects a broad product experience

Samsung’s official design story presents SamsungOne as a type system intended to connect products, platforms and environments. Its examples span phones, televisions, computers, household appliances, packaging and promotional communication. This is a design-history guide to the named SamsungOne family, separate from instructions for changing a Galaxy phone’s font settings. A phone’s available user-selected fonts and the company’s broader identity system answer different questions.

02

The published principles emphasize a humanist system

Samsung describes five principles: humanist, distinctive, universal, expert and legible or scalable. Its account places reliable, approachable communication alongside a structured visual identity. The official design page reports 26 writing systems, more than 400 languages and over 25,000 glyphs for the project. Those are system-level figures, not a promise that every individual font file contains every script or that all Samsung interfaces use one unchanging font version.

03

Design a practical appliance instruction sample

For an independent product instruction page, start with a concise action heading, one instruction per step and clearly separated warnings or status messages. Compare the smallest supporting label with the principal action. Avoid making a helpful interface depend on subtle differences between light and regular weights. A consistent location for the next instruction often matters more than adding another decorative type treatment.

04

Evaluate independent fonts across the real task

Source Sans 3, Inter and Manrope are independent comparison specimens, not SamsungOne downloads. Test a short control label, a longer troubleshooting paragraph and a numeric reading in each. If the project uses several languages, evaluate complete translations with appropriate script support. Preserve the same information hierarchy while allowing line lengths and spacing to respond to the translated content rather than forcing every version into identical boxes.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Your questions, answered.

What is SamsungOne?

Samsung describes it as a multiscript type system connecting the company’s products and communications through a consistent visual voice.

Does this guide explain how to change a Galaxy font?

No. The separate Samsung Galaxy settings guide covers that task. This page explains the design context of SamsungOne itself.
