Roca: background and attribution
Roca is Elena Genova’s soft serif family from My Creative Land. Its creator account explains that it began as an extension to Praline MCL, then became a separate project informed by Windsor, Cooper Black and Bookman. Those references describe its direction rather than making Roca a renamed copy of one earlier family.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
The publisher demonstrates multiple weights, true italics and stylistic alternatives. Compare the regular letters with the alternate forms in the same phrase. A difference in a leg or terminal can change the personality of a word without requiring an entirely different family.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Try a welcoming product title or retro editorial heading, then compare a short supporting paragraph. Keep the same wording while changing style and weight. Use a calmer companion where the title’s soft character would compete with small practical details.
For independent comparisons, try Corben and Alice. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
