Remedy Font

Frank Heine designed Remedy in 1991. Emigre places it within the period’s renewed interest in flowing, hand-drawn lettering and earlier psychedelic visual styles. Its informal curves offered a different direction from the more modular designs that had characterized much of Emigre’s early digital catalog.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

The family lists Single and Double resources and includes alternate characters, flourishes and decorative glyphs. Inspect how those choices affect an entire word, rather than selecting several ornaments in isolation. A lively display design can create a clear accent without becoming the typeface for every line of text.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

Try a short celebration heading with a plain supporting date line. Begin with default characters, then introduce one alternate or flourish where it improves the word’s shape. Leave room for the curved strokes and inspect the heading at the size it will appear on the finished invitation or poster.
