Qubo Font by Hoftype: Squared Curves and Figure Choices

Explore Hoftype Qubo through paragraph and numeral proofs: compare supplied weights, squared curves and proportional versus tabular figures.

Compare Hoftype Qubo with a paragraph, a short interface label and a price table. Its rounded construction and numeral choices give you different decisions to make; keep those proofs separate so a useful headline does not conceal an awkward data setting.

01

Identify the Hoftype family before comparing names

Hoftype credits Dieter Hofrichter with Qubo and describes a monoline construction with slightly squared curves and subtle humanist details. Its catalog lists fourteen styles, from Extra Light through Black with italic companions. The publisher also documents ligatures, multiple figure sets, currency symbols, fractions and scientific numerals.

Use the Hoftype Qubo resource for this particular family. A shared name with a television channel or a different designer’s project does not establish that they use this resource. Read typeface versus font when documenting the exact family and chosen style.

02

Compare the curved construction in words and paragraphs

Prepare a short label containing several rounded letters and a paragraph using the same chosen weight. Keep the line width constant while comparing a neighboring supplied weight. Inspect both the outside rhythm of the words and the internal spaces of rounded letters rather than reducing the decision to whether the family looks geometric.

For a compact label, compare the original wording against a shorter editorial version before compressing the letters. For a paragraph, compare the actual italic companion in a short emphasis phrase and a longer quotation separately. Manrope and Inter are independent comparisons; neither reproduces Qubo’s metrics or full feature set.

03

Choose numeral spacing for the actual data task

The publisher distinguishes proportional and tabular lining figures. If the actual file and application expose those choices, build two copies of a price or measurement table and switch the figure setting while preserving the column width. Use values with visibly different digit combinations so the effect is not hidden by repeated ones or zeroes.

Keep prose dates in a separate proof rather than imposing the table’s setting on every sentence. Include any required fractions and currency marks in the same final output sample, then choose the configuration that matches each role. The number-font guide compares numeral design more broadly. For a plain-caption character experiment, the font-style generator transforms Unicode text; it does not transfer Qubo’s OpenType figure settings into another application.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Your questions, answered.

Does this identify the Qubo television-logo font?

No. This guide scopes the Hoftype family and its documented features. A matching product name is not evidence for an unrelated logo.

Does one free or trial style imply the whole family is freely redistributable?

No. Use the linked publisher resource for the particular file and terms. This guide does not provide the named family’s files; its comparison specimens are independent fonts.
