Read the actual ITC edition and its style names
The ITC Pump publisher catalog credits Philip Kelly and lists Pump Pro Light, Medium, Demi, Bold and Triline. This is the specific digital edition discussed here. A catalog debut date is not sufficient evidence for when the original lettering was invented, and different historical editions should not be assigned this exact style list without checking. Use the full file and style name when comparing an older specimen with a current purchase. In his first-person Letraset memoir, Kelly specifically identifies Pump Triline as his design under Colin Brignall’s art direction. Keep that precise credit separate from assumptions about every historical Pump cut.
Give Triline its own output-size proof
Make a short original title such as LOOP and compare a solid style with Triline at the same visible letter height. Inspect whether the internal lines remain separated at the final printed or displayed size, especially where curves turn and narrow gaps meet. A larger preview can hide the point where a line treatment loses definition. Keep a single-color proof alongside a reversed one, then compare both on the actual background. Monoton is an independent multiline display comparison, not Pump Triline itself.
Choose weight by occupied space rather than the menu label
Try the same product name and a second, longer name before deciding that one weight can serve the whole range. Compare the gaps inside letters and between words, and reserve a separate quiet line for size, date or contact details instead of shrinking the display face to fit everything. Righteous provides an independent rounded geometric comparison. The homepage decorative Unicode text generator offers copyable character substitutions; it does not install Pump or preserve the Triline artwork in ordinary text.
Your questions, answered.
Which styles are listed in the cited Pump edition?
The publisher lists Pump Pro Light, Medium, Demi, Bold and Triline.
Can the independent previews be used as exact Pump substitutes?
They are comparisons for different original layouts. They are not Pump files and should not be labeled as the ITC family.
