01

Palm Canyon Drive: background and attribution

Amy Hood of Hoodzpah designed Palm Canyon Drive with RetroSupply. Its source account connects the design with Southern California matchbooks, travel postcards and mid-century Hollywood lettering. Those everyday graphic references inform a monoline script intended for short expressive settings rather than continuous body text.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

The source lists one regular style, with standard letters and numerals plus selected catchwords. Its monoline character contrasts with scripts built around strong thick-and-thin strokes. Inspect the actual glyph resources and word connections in the original specimen before assuming that a decorative preview image is part of the font itself.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Try a short postcard heading beside a small destination caption. Keep enough space around the connected lettering and compare the title at the size it will appear on the finished card. Use a simple supporting face for addresses and practical information, keeping the script as the main accent.

For independent comparisons, try Sacramento and Yellowtail. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
