01

Open Sauce: background and attribution

Alfredo Marco Pradil developed Open Sauce Fonts for Creative Sauce’s internal type system. The project describes a compact contemporary grotesque superfamily and separates Open Sauce Sans, One and Two. The repository includes a separate Open Font License file for each branch.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

Select the branch intentionally rather than treating Sans, One and Two as interchangeable filenames. The project differentiates their optical characteristics within a coordinated system. Inspect the exact release and its included resources for the intended use.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Compare a small interface label, a title and a dense paragraph. Inter and Source Sans 3 offer independent sans-serif comparisons. For the original resources, use the author’s repository and retain its branch-specific license.

For independent comparisons, try Inter and Source Sans 3. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
