01

Olive Village: background and attribution

Ivan Rosenberg designed and publishes Olive Village as a contemporary display family inspired by a 1970s groovy atmosphere. Its vintage reference describes the intended character, not a release in that decade. The family is offered in Regular and Italic versions.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

The publisher highlights alternate glyphs and ligatures accessible through OpenType features. Compare ordinary lettering with the alternatives before planning a title around a specific connection. The design is positioned mainly for short headings, packaging and branding; its promotional claim about text reading should still be judged in your own output.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Try a café label with a short product name and a separate ingredients line. Build the title first using normal letters, then add alternates selectively. Compare Regular and Italic at the same width and make sure decorative choices do not compete with small functional information.

For independent comparisons, try Shrikhand and Spicy Rice. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
