01

Neuropol: background and attribution

Neuropol is Raymond Larabie’s futuristic design published through Typodermic Fonts. The creator dates the original design to 1996, distinguishes the expanded Neuropol X of 2004, and describes a repaired re-release of the original in 2015. Those are different stages of the project rather than interchangeable release names.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

The creator describes rounded-square construction and truncated horizontal strokes. Compare the original forms with the alternate Z if your application exposes the relevant OpenType alternate. The current creator listing supplies a CC0 notice; keep that notice tied to the specific original distribution rather than generalizing it to every similarly named product.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Try a short science-fiction title or interface heading, then include a price and a reference code. Wide display lettering can need a different layout from a condensed headline. Compare character recognition at the actual size before using a futuristic shape for essential small information.

For independent comparisons, try Orbitron and Michroma. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
