Microgramma: background and attribution
Alessandro Butti and Aldo Novarese designed Microgramma for Nebiolo in 1952. The publisher connects its squared display construction with their later Eurostile development, while the releases remain distinct named resources.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
Wide, squared forms give the design a strongly horizontal texture. Inspect the actual character set and style before using it for ordinary reading. The same broad technical mood can appear in other designs without establishing the same origin or outline.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Try a fictional instrument name and a short model number. Check that expanded letters fit the label without horizontal distortion. Michroma and Audiowide provide independent technical display comparisons; the Eurostile guide offers related family background.
For independent comparisons, try Michroma and Audiowide. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
Official preview and font resources
Use URW Type Foundry to try the original and investigate the files, styles and terms for your intended workflow. This site does not distribute or serve Microgramma font software.
The editable alternatives here have their own source profiles and included licenses. For the difference between a font file and copied characters, read Unicode text versus fonts.
