01

Lust: background and attribution

Neil Summerour designed Lust, with Positype distinguishing its initial release from the later redrawn and expanded resources. The creator’s account describes adding an optical-size direction after feedback, separating the present six-resource offering from earlier masters.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

The current family lists Regular, Display and Fine resources with italic companions. Inspect the relevant optical design along with swashes and stylistic sets in supporting software. Lust Slim, Pro and Stencil are separately named branches rather than simply additional weights of this same listing.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Try a large editorial title and then reduce it to the actual final size. Prata and Vidaloka provide independent high-contrast serif comparisons. Inspect fine strokes and decorative terminals before choosing a text size or busy background.

For independent comparisons, try Prata and Vidaloka. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
