Industria: background and attribution
Neville Brody designed Industria, one of the display projects offered through Linotype alongside his other separately named families. The publisher connects the work with Art Deco and broader lettering references. Industria’s mechanical character should be described through its own resources rather than a vague industrial-font label.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
The current Pro package offers Solid and Inline. Inline changes the internal treatment of the design rather than supplying a conventional italic or another ordinary weight. Insignia and Arcadia are separate Brody families even when encountered in a shared collection.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Compare a compact title in Solid and Inline on the same background. Inspect the internal lines after reducing size and check punctuation near narrow letters. Use a quieter companion for any long explanation that follows the display heading.
For independent comparisons, try Michroma and Antonio. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
Official preview and font resources
Use Linotype / MyFonts to try the original and investigate the files, styles and terms for your intended workflow. This site does not distribute or serve Industria font software.
The editable alternatives here have their own source profiles and included licenses. For the difference between a font file and copied characters, read Unicode text versus fonts.
