Separate two independent designs with the same name
Tugcu Design describes its Equinox as uppercase lettering with multilingual characters, numerals, punctuation and alternatives, supplied in Regular and Bold. The creator says case toggling accesses the alternate letters. Separately, ITC credits Vince Whitlock with Equinox Std and describes alternative characters with a recommendation for tight letter and word spacing.
Use the Tugcu creator resource or ITC’s Equinox resource according to the design you mean. They are not interchangeable creator credits, and instructions for one do not establish features in the other. Keep the publisher in your project notes; typeface versus font explains why a short name can be insufficient.
Build a case-key comparison for Tugcu’s alternate capitals
In an application using the actual Tugcu resource, duplicate a short name and compare its case inputs. Check that a case change selects the intended alternative rather than assuming it produces a conventional smaller lowercase alphabet. Keep the ordinary spelling in a separate source-text note so it can be reused accurately.
Compare repeated letters in the complete word, not just isolated shapes. A variant can improve repetition while making a neighboring pair less balanced. Choose the preferred combination before comparing the supplied weights, then hold that combination constant as weight changes. Independent Michroma and Electrolize examples are other constructions, not either original Equinox.
Treat tight spacing as a phrase-level experiment
For the ITC resource, start with an unchanged line beside a tightened version. Adjust letter spacing and word spacing separately so that you can identify which change helps. Preserve enough distinction between words that a compact headline does not become an accidental single word.
Keep one short and one long phrase in the proof. An adjustment that suits a compact mark may become tiring in a longer line. The condensed-font guide offers a different comparison: naturally narrow letter construction is separate from merely closing the spaces between letters. For a quick Unicode caption, use the copy-and-paste text generator; it does not deliver either Equinox family or encode its alternate-file behavior.
Your questions, answered.
Is Vince Whitlock the designer of the Tugcu Equinox resource?
The linked sources identify separate resources. Keep the ITC credit with the ITC product and the Tugcu description with its own creator page.
Will the alternate-letter instructions work with every font called Equinox?
Do not assume so. Identify the actual file and creator first, then use the instructions for that resource and the capabilities of your application.
