Desirable Calligraphy: background and attribution

Sukjana Almunandar designed Desirable Calligraphy for Alcode. The publisher describes influences from Italian handwriting and older manuscripts; those are design references rather than evidence that the font is a digitized historical document. MyFonts records its directory debut in August 2019.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

The listing presents one style with ligatures and alternate forms. Access to those forms depends on application support or a glyph-selection workflow. A single font file can contain alternate glyphs without being a family of many different weights.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Try a certificate recipient’s name and a wedding invitation heading. Inspect the beginning and ending letters before adding flourishes, and leave enough vertical space around tall strokes. Set supporting addresses and dates in a simpler companion for comparison.

For independent comparisons, try Great Vibes and Pinyon Script. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
