Read the archived Corus family and role guidance
The Corus brand quick guide, identified in its filename as July 2017, assigns ITC Avant Garde Gothic Bold to personality-led titles and headlines, with Effra as the body-text workhorse. It specifies Title Case for Avant Garde and generally sentence case for Effra, allowing capitals for smaller titles. These are documented roles in that identity system, not evidence that typing the corporate name in either family reproduces its complete logo. The Effra resource guide covers that separately named family.
Compare two typographic jobs on one announcement
For an original programme announcement, write a short headline, a two-sentence description and a compact schedule line. Make one proof where the headline carries the visual personality while the paragraph stays quiet. Make another where both are similarly forceful. Compare how quickly someone can find the description and schedule without relying on colour alone. Use your own programme name and wording so the exercise studies hierarchy rather than reconstructing a company asset. Poppins and Lato provide independent geometric and reading-text comparisons; they are not the original Corus fonts.
Keep the wordmark separate from editable text
The same guide treats logos as supplied assets, documents clear space, and prohibits distortion. Preserve that distinction when cataloguing a reference: an approved logo, a headline setting and a paragraph are different resources even when they appear together. For a historical study, record the dated source rather than assuming the archived choices govern every present-day channel or subsidiary. For an original layout, keep the family and style names beside the editable master so another team member can reproduce the hierarchy. The homepage generator for decorative copyable wording changes Unicode characters; it does not provide either commercial family or export an approved Corus wordmark.
Your questions, answered.
Does the guide identify a downloadable font called Corus?
Its typography section identifies ITC Avant Garde Gothic and Effra for supporting text. A similarly named download does not establish that it is an authorized corporate resource.
Are these rules current for every Corus property?
This page describes the cited archived corporate guide. A particular project needs the current identity resources supplied for that property and use.
