Cera Pro: background and attribution
Jakob Runge designed Cera Pro, with TypeMates crediting development in 2015 and 2018 and contributions from Lisa Fischbach. Its geometric foundation is supported by native-script consulting for the broader character set. The project belongs to a collection with several separately named constructions.
Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.
Forms, styles and what to inspect
Six weights have italic companions, making 12 core styles. Cera Compact and Cera Condensed provide narrower alternatives, while Stencil, Brush and Round have their own roles. Check the specific branch before applying a collection-wide feature or glyph count to a chosen file.
Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.
Try it in a real layout
Compare a heading, interface label and short paragraph. Select the width before adjusting tracking, and inspect accented names or the required Greek or Cyrillic text in the original specimen. Keep the branch and weight recorded when sharing a layout.
For independent comparisons, try Manrope and Josefin Sans. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
