01

Bugaki: background and attribution

Bugaki is Eko Nur Cahyo’s display serif family from Kulokale. The publisher offers regular and italic resources and describes access to additional forms through glyph-aware software. The creator’s separate demo listing is for personal use; it should not be represented as the complete commercially licensed family.

Read the publisher’s family page for the source account and the edition currently offered. Keep a family name distinct from its particular release, width or optical branch.

02

Forms, styles and what to inspect

Compare the default letters and extra forms in the original specimen. The publisher discusses Private Use Area encoding, which depends on the matching font to display the intended glyphs. Copying such a character into an unrelated application is not a reliable way to preserve a decorative letter.

Use the original publisher specimen to inspect those features. An alternative can share a broad role without having the same letter shapes, metrics or character coverage.

03

Try it in a real layout

Try a short brand name or invitation title, then keep practical details in a restrained companion. Check repeated letters, accents and punctuation before settling on alternates. Preserve an editable original with the required font reference for future changes.

For independent comparisons, try DM Serif Display and Playfair Display. Use the same wording and approximate output size. The related style guide provides broader design context.
