01

Read Bogle within its documented brand context

Walmart’s earlier Associate Brand Visual Identity manual identifies Bogle as a custom font inspired by the Spark. The document assigns Bold and Regular weights to associate communications. This is direct evidence from the organization, but its scope and age matter. It should not be treated as proof that every Walmart logo, retail sign, application or present-day corporate document uses the same typography.

02

The earlier manual defines a practical hierarchy

The manual uses Bogle Bold for headings and Bogle Regular for body copy, favoring left alignment and sentence case. It specifies black or white for body text. Those rules describe an identity treatment rather than properties built into the font file: a font cannot enforce sentence case or choose a suitable background on its own. When assessing an old document, inspect its composition as well as individual letter shapes.

03

Today’s public brand resource uses Everyday Sans

Walmart’s current public typography page describes an Everyday Sans family, distinguishing its everyday, headline, mono and UI applications. It states that the UI version visually matches Everyday Sans while adding variable functionality. Consequently, a historical Bogle identification and a current Everyday Sans reference can both be accurate in their respective contexts. Use the publication’s date and purpose instead of presenting the older associate manual as universal current guidance.

04

Choose typography appropriate to your own project

For an independent staff-information sheet, organize the message into a short heading, readable explanation and obvious next step. Keep operational details out of decorative display treatments. Check a long employee name, a date and an important number before finalizing a narrow column. The publicly readable brand manual does not itself grant access to Walmart’s custom files; use a font you are licensed to deploy for unrelated commercial work.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Your questions, answered.

Was Bogle used by Walmart?

An earlier Walmart Associate Brand manual identifies Bogle as its custom font and specifies Bold and Regular weights in that context.

Is Bogle the current font named on Walmart’s public brand page?

The current public typography resource names Everyday Sans and its specialized variants, so the older Bogle documentation needs historical context.
